The Company:

The Company is a young, fast-growing, dynamic business, set-up here in Ireland and run locally but now part of an international Group.  The company offers fast progression, flexibility and growth with the security of a Fortune 500 corporate backer. 

The Role:

The company specialises in Energy trading, both for itself, and as a service for large utilities and corporations.  The Energy data analytics department is core to The Company’s Strategy.  The Company believes in rigorous statistical data analysis, that when combined with The Company’s energy industry knowledge, allows them to execute profitable trading strategies for themselves and their clients.

The Company has ambitious growth targets and has created a new Head of Analytics position.  Working closely with The Head of Trading you will develop The Company’s analytics strategy to ensure they achieve their goals.  The role will be varied and fast moving but will include the following

• To develop and manage a team of analysts steering the overall energy market analytics for the company.
• Work with the Head of Trading to translate said analytics into executable trading strategies.
• Assist in the development of The Company’s technical infrastructure to improve its ability to source and analyse energy market information.
• To be a key member of The Company’s senior management team, assisting in the steering and development of the Company’s strategic direction.

The Person:

The Company believe its most important assets are its people.  In order to achieve their ambitious goals, they believe in hiring the best individuals available then supporting them with market leading technology and training to ensure their success.  To be considered for this position you will need to be able to demonstrate:

• A passion for developing high quality innovative data analytics and interpreting finding into useable information for the business.
• Proven experience analysing Energy Markets.
• +5 years’ experience developing and managing teams of analysts, with a hands-on approach
• Expertise with analytical tools such as SQL, R, Python, Excel etc.
• Excellent academic profile with Master or PhD level in Statistical analysis or another STEM subject.
• Ambitious and driven to succeed with excellent communication skills.

The Offer:

The Company will tailor their offer to attract the best possible candidate depending on experience, but, as a guide, they expect to pay circa €80,000 - €90,000 base salary plus significant bonus and full benefits package including medical, generous pension and leave.

NB: This role will not offer Visa sponsorship to non-EU staff unless they can demonstrate significant EU Energy market analytics experience.
