Claims Team Leader

The Company:

Our client is a wholly Irish owned insurance company, specialising in bespoke insurance solutions with core public service, education and health market segments.

 

The Role:

Our client is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join them in the role of Motor and Property Claims Team Leader.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the supervision and team management of claims handler within their team, ensuring workflow, tasks, timelines and processes operate efficiently. You shall act as the referral point on queries, providing guidance and assistance on claims handling, operational issues and resource and performance management.

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to and working alongside the Claims Manager the Team Leader will get involved in all the everyday transactional and operational team duties, to ensure the delivery of the strategic goals.

 

Key Activities:

  • Manage and supervise the team’s workflow, tasks, timelines and processes to achieve operational targets
  • Managing the day to day organisation of the team to include the prioritisation of workloads
  • Ensure continued focus on the quality claims handling and controlling the cost of claims, while meeting customer expectations
  • Auditing quality of the team performance and providing feedback
  • Ensure compliance with company reserving and payment philosophy
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, governance and quality standards including management of individuals CPD requirements.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to team members, identifying needs and developing technical knowledge
  • Performance management of the team members ensuring team are motivated and developed
  • Dealing with customer escalations and ensuring prompt resolution
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and monitor SLA targets for expert appraisers
  • Authorise cheques in a timely manner

 

Experience & Skills required:

  • Relevant professional and / or 3RD Level qualification / Membership to III
  • CIP Qualification status held
  • 8+ years’ experience within claims in the General Insurance Industry
  • 3+years’ experience in people management and leading effective teams
