About the job:

The opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for a claims contract specialist to join a leading global insurance organisation based in Dublin.

The Claims Contract Specialist will update and review all vendor contracts and service level agreements within the claims function, providing direction & guidance to the claims business owners in compliance risks within the contract.

The Role:

• The Claims Contract Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with Compliance, and in implementing and maintaining internal procedure and guidelines regarding vendor relationships.
• Reviewing contracts from a legal standpoint in line with the Central Bank of Ireland regulations in Ireland, FCA rules in the UK, company standards & policies and applicable legal requirements for contacts
• Providing guidance and direction to the claims business and identifying legal and compliance risks which a contract may be subject to
• Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the applicable regulatory and legal contract requirements, an understanding of the business processes in the insurance industry, and the ability to work with the business areas to deliver practical and appropriate compliance solutions
• Collaborating with the relevant business managers and the compliance function, to manage the overall business relationship effectively
• Maintaining and implementing internal policies and guidelines regarding contract reviews, as well as providing guidance on the internal vendor management

What are we looking for?

Essential:

• Contracts professional with strong knowledge and direct experience in relation to contract law
• Excellent knowledge and experience of the overall legal & regulatory environment in Ireland
• Direct experience in evaluating, interpreting and applying legal & regulatory requirements with regards to contracts, and in communicating same to the business areas in a professional manner
• Relevant legal degree
• Proficiency in MS office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Desirable:

• Prior experience in General Insurance and Financial Services
• Experience in working with UK regulations
• Professional Certificate or Diploma in Compliance
